Friday Fun Halloween Party (Oct 2010)

Our Friday Playgroup party was at Laney's BFF's house this year (Claire). A perfect day for an outside gathering. The K's have a great backyard with lots of fun play things. Laney loves this slide and plays with it each time we go to their house.

I wasn't able to get too many shots of Carter. Food + friends + trampolines + ladders
+ bounce house = no time for mommy to take pictures. Anyway, this is Ethan's costume that he is letting Carter use. It's a dinosaur, though he didn't wear the hood that day for some reason. He LOVES the costume and was so excited to be a dinosaur.

This is L with her BFF. I think Karen may have gotten a better picture of them, but they are two peas in a pod for sure. Claire is pretty sweet on 'Tar Tar,' too, and of course, he adores her.

This picture just made me laugh. Poor Bug.

We attempted a few group shots. Herding cats. Really. I never got one of the full group, but I was entertained with trying!!! This was the middle section.

The left section. Poor Hailey. She was having a rough day!

The kiddos had great fun. Pizza for everyone - a play group lunchtime favorite!

Our Pumpkins and Their Pumpkins (Oct 2010)

Joel and the kids carved pumpkins to put on the porch. Laney wasn't so sure about all the 'goo' inside, but Carter dove right in.

She eventually got brave and played with the seeds for a bit. Daddy made it fun. Daddy makes everything fun.

They were so proud of their pumpkins. We sat them outside to show them off. Each time we would leave the house, the kids would yell to look at their pumpkins. Unfortunately, the smell and bugs was enough to make me sick. Felt sorry for the mail man. Needless to say, the real pumpkins were soon replaced by Grandma's hand-me-down light up pumpkin (that still makes a random appearance on the porch every now and then).

Zoo Boo (Oct 2010)

Zoo Boo was another Friday Playgroup outing. It actually turned out to be a nice day, and the crowds weren't too bad, all things considering. It did get a little congested in the kids' area, but I guess that's to be expected! The zoo had several other activities for little ones to do while visiting. Of course, we had to get our token pumpkins.

These are my favorite pictures from the day. I love the expressions on their faces in both pictures. My friend, Allison, took the picture of Carter and Lindsey. Such sweetness! And such flirts! Carter has always thought Lindsey was a sweetie. I told Allison my first thought after seeing this picture was 'they would be awesome to have as in-laws!!!!!!'

Remember my comment in the previous post about the world's saddest children? Well, they also made it to Zoo Boo. I think this was the 'we'll teach mom not to cart the camera around so much' trick of the month.

Old Mc D's Farm - Oct 2010

October means pumpkins, and that's where we headed for one of our Friday playgroups. A BEAUTIFUL day at Old McD's Farm - worth the drive for sure. The kids had a great time despite the horribly sad looks on their faces in the pictures. That was a treat just for the camera. Carter actually told me at one point, 'MAMA, NO MORE PICTURES.' Yeah, right.

Sad, sad... isn't that a sad face? He carried that pumpkin around for DAYS.

Just a few members of the 'Jan/Feb 09' birthday club.

He could have stayed here all day.

He rode twice! I was so proud of him, and he was so proud of himself. Laney was a big talker, but she didn't want to have anything to do with the horse.

Love that smile.

Notice that Chicken Little Sister is not in the picture.

The 3 Musketeers

I think I actually heard angels singing when he discovered this part. Needless to say, it wasn't an actual display at the farm.

They were both so, so sweet with the animals. We'll definitely go back again.

Miss Priss - and the debut of the bow. First time in public with a bow in her hair the WHOLE time. Barely.
