My New Definition of a Foam Party...

Our kids LOVE to play with shaving cream in the bathtub. It's a great medium for them to draw, scribble things, and just to squish between their fingers, and it's relatively clean. There are usually toys in the bathtub that they will stamp or use to make patterns in the sc, but I have taken most of them out so they're not in there when people come to look at the house.

Regardless, the cheap, foamy, white stuff is a huge hit in the tub.

(And yes, they are standing on a no-slip mat, and yes, one of us is always right there just in case!)

Nemo

Nemo got booted from the kitchen (where he was safe and out of reach) when we put our house on the market. Our kitchen just didn't quite look as pretty with a 1 gallon aquarium on the counter. So, he was moved to Carter's room. The good news is that I could finally take down the Sesame Street Christmas house that Carter would sometimes use as a nightlight.

I sent him to his room one day for timeout, and he got too quiet. That's never good. But not to worry, he was only 'feeding Nemo.'

The second time this happened (I swear I cannot keep anything out of reach. he WILL find a way to get it), Breezy ate it before I could clean it up. I did find out that fish food will NOT stain bedspreads when it becomes licked into the fabric. At least not this time.

Funny Conversations with Carter...

(Saying prayers after visiting the Dino exhibit at the zoo...)

"Thank you, Jesus, for...

Hayden (who went with us), Baby Claire (who, I'm afraid will always be 'Baby' Claire - even when she's my age), Hayden's sister (though I don't think he knows 'Hailey' and 'Hayden's sister' are one in the same), [list of dinosaurs we saw], [animals at the zoo], ... GaGa (Joel's mom), and grilled cheese.
-----------------------------------------------------

(After chasing Laney down to retrieve a piece of train-track she ran off with while giggling...)

"No, Lala, you hear me? No!"

??Can't imagine where he heard that from??

---------------------------------------------------

(In the car....)

Carter: Look, mama, airplane!
me: Wow! I wonder where it's going?
Carter: Pump It Up.

Breezy and the Sprinkler

Speaking of Breezy... she and Carter share quite an interest in the same toys (as we first saw in the toys removed from her stomach!). But... this may be her favorite. Carter played with this sprinkler for what seemed like hours, but I think Breezy was an even bigger fan.

Don't you love her speckled belly???

Laney and the Lick...

Laney loves her Cozy Coupe, but I don't think she was ready for this. I love this picture as you can actually see her face stretching from Breezy's lick. Unfortunately for Laney, she is at the perfect 'kissing' height for the Weezer Breeze.

Bugs

We tried to stay outside most of April and May before it reached melting point here. Most days were nothing too exciting, or so I thought. But I'm always amazed at how kids can take the mundane and turn things into an adventure. We discovered lots of spider webs and bugs that lived in my plants (sadly), birds' nests, sprinklers, swings, and much more on our outings. Again, nothing that seems too exciting, but hours of entertainment - for us all. I love watching the kids just be themselves.

This particular day, we were visited by a ladybug. I have tried and tried to get Laney's picture with one, but... no luck. While this wasn't what I had in mind, it was cute to watch them both just let her crawl around. They would pass her back and forth by linking fingers or arms or whatever, and she stuck around for a while. It was cute, and it made me smile to watch my squirmy two-year old be so sweet and gentle to this fragile, little bug.

Jump Zone

Shortly after the bunny arrived, we picked up a 'Jump Zone' from a friend in our neighborhood moms' group. She was giving it away as her kids were too old, and it's something I always thought about getting for Carter. Bonus that it was free!

Anyway, Carter LOVES it as I knew he would and actually hangs and twirls from the bar, too... But Laney plays on it just as much. Mind you, she had just taken a bath in this video and hadn't quite made it into pj's yet.

Again, super quick, but it still makes us laugh the way she "jumps."

Hippity Hoppity Hula Dance (Easter)

I am trying to catch up on two months worth of stuff here, so stick with me!

My dad and Sheryl always send the kids such fun stuff. 99% of the time, it is something that sings or dances, so we always look forward to what the postman will bring! This Easter, it was a huge bunny that did both.

Laney would play it over and over and over and over... And she would do this little dance with her hips that was too funny. I have tons of video on this, but here is a super quick one.

Our Easter didn't quite go as planned. Laney actually had a bad fever that Saturday when we were all planning on going to church, so Carter and I went by ourselves. The service was absolutely beautiful, and we had a yummy dinner afterwards with GranJan and Pappa. Of course we missed Daddy and Laney being with us, but I was so glad to be a part of the service as we celebrated the holiest of days.

He is risen! He is risen, indeed!

Clean out...

We had a garage sale to get rid of some of the junk...er, treasure... sitting around our house before putting our house on the market. I bought some of the pre-marked stickers to try to speed up the process.

Joel thought he was pretty funny sneaking this one on Scooter...
