Still catching up... A Note from Grandma

Joel's mom and dad (Grandma and Grandpa) asked if they could watch the kids one weekend in October so we could get some work done, have a date night, sleep, etc... (yes, we do have it good!). This was an email we received from Joel's mom shortly after their weekend together.

All,

As you all know, Carter can open, undo, flip, punch, wiggle anything that man has made. He cannot outsmart Mike Hill as the attached picture proves. However, Mike thought it was just a matter of time until Carter figured out the knots that Mike tied. Fortunately for us, it was Sunday afternoon and time ran out for the little guy since we had to return the children to their parents.

I, on the other hand, used a rubber band to keep Carter away from my makeup, lotions, etc. It took him only 3 minutes to get past my "barricade" and squirt sun-tan lotion in my drawer.

We loved every minute of our weekend with the children. Hope you get a laugh from the picture.

If I'm remember the story correctly, Carter kept opening the oven to put toys in there (can't imagine why that would be a problem..??????????????????) and then progressed to pulling the band of oven insulation off of the inside of the door. Double fun with the double ovens, right? Anyway, the first few attempts at "locking" the ovens didn't work. This seemed to be the answer. Our little boy is 100% 3rd generation engineer.
