The First Few Days... (part 2)

Our first few days around town were spent just relaxing and enjoying the cooler weather. I LOOOOOOVE Grandma's basement as you're guaranteed to be cooler than upstairs or outside on any given day. Even better at night. It was a little vacation in itself! The kids have all kinds of fun toys to play with down there, too. Even they liked the cooler temps! Mom and Grandma kept asking if they were cold. Of course Carter was down to his underwear, and even Laney wasn't too quick to layer on the clothes. We did make them sleep in warm pj's, but just for the first week or so. By the end, Carter B was back to sleeping in his underwear, and Laney had shed a few layers of covers.

We had lots of trips to the library, the local park (that really is several parks in one), meals on the patio, and Grandma Great's house (Janet's mom).

At the park...

At Grandma Great's...

GG had these little glasses just for the kids to use. They thought that was such a treat! I could have put anything in there for them to drink, and they would have been happy. Of course they HAD to use them on the grass. At one point, I took off L's pants as she "leaked" a little bit. Too much playing, no time for potty. I brought her some lemonade in her cup and told her to sit on the grass. She replied," But Moooooommy, I don't have any panties on my tiny hiney." You had to be there, but it was the way she said it that made it hilarious. And I'm not sure they exact way to spell 'hiney!'

This was Carter's way to 'one-up' Laney for sitting on the ball. Sure, you can sit on a ball. But can you sit on a ball AND a bat?

Laney mainly rolled on (and off) of her Dora ball.

I love GG's way of thinking. When deciding what treat the kids should get after dinner, she chose ice cream. Why? It's healthly. It has calcium in it!! :) Amen!

Post ice cream kisses!
