Did you think it was really a giraffe???
Ok, so the red nose gives it a bit of a Rudolph/pig effect, but... you get the idea. He is still sporting a battle wound on his nose from a Memorial Day face plant off the patio.
Yes, today was back to the zoo and ... you guessed it... the splash pad for a birthday party. I didn't have my camera, but the Kadanes took a few shots for us. (thank you!)

Clearly, this boy doesn't know the danger of putting his head that close to Carter's mouth.
All in all, a fun party and not a bad day for Carter. He did give me a 'limp noodle' tantrum when we got off of the carousel. He did NOT want to leave.
Today, however, I managed to avoid the diaper bag ordeal and spared myself the panic attack as I was half way home and realized I forgot my diaper bag at Hermann Park, the stressed call to Joel to put a hold on our cards since my wallet was in the bag, the SPRINT back to the splash pad with Laney asleep in the stroller and Carter thrown on the handle bars to see if the bag was there, the wait in the Guest Relations office as I filled out the 'Lost and Found' form, the sobbing calls to Karen and Jeri relaying my dilemma, the realization that my sweet baby girl will have to travel with her things in a Belden's grocery bag until we can replace her REAL diaper bag, the slow and hot walk back to my car ONLY TO REALIZE THAT THE BAG ACTUALLY WAS IN THE CAR THE WHOLE TIME. Ugh...
I do have to say that there was a minute that I realized I have my keys, I have my phone, and most importantly, I have my precious kiddos unharmed and relatively happy - all things considering. I could do without the bag, though I was very grateful to find it in the car. I hadn't been a 'happy mommy' the day before, and I think God used this opportunity to remind me that I have it pretty good. Point taken :)
And really, I know white is not Carter's color. But, the shirt was part of a 3 for $15 deal at Old Navy. Plus, it's cool for the summer and goes with both bathing suits.
