Three Months...

Our sweet little girl is three months today. Time is really going quickly. It wasn't all that long ago that Carter was doing so many of the things that I find Laney doing now... So many of the precious baby moments that don't stick around too long. I don't know that I could pick my favorite though...



Maybe it's her 'full face' smile that she gives us so often - as if she's happy just to be able to smile... or maybe it's the 'super stretches' after a long nap (GranJan calls her 'Scooter face!')...perhaps it's the little baby squeaks when she sleeps... or what about the way she has a stare-down with Monkey, just like Carter did... it's got to be the sweet little conversations we have now with "oooos" and "coooos"... hmmm... I think it may be her newly discovered belly laugh... I can't forget about the way she sleeps with her arms over her head JUST LIKE Carter AND Daddy... the way her sweet little head smells when I rock with her at night...maybe how her chubby little hands can grip my finger and refuse to let go... how she loves her baths... how she smiles at Carter even when he knocks her on the head with a golf ball... how she gives me one last smile before she's off to sleep or one big smile when she wakes up... how she looks so content swaddled in her blanket...maybe it's how the lights on the TV - especially during The O'Reilly Factor - can cure any crying spell...how she loves to be held and snuggled... how the best part of her day is when someone stops to talk to her...



I don't know... it's hard to list them all and even hard to pick the best. Luckily I don't have to! But I do cherish them now, as I know they won't last too long.



Carter calls her 'Lala' now, and I hope it sticks. Though he's still a baby himself, he seems so grown up compared to Laney. We've enjoyed watching them interact more - and I think Scooter is glad to have her around. Takes a little of the attention off of him. :)
